Welcome to DateDash.ie (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a service designed to connect individuals through in-person speed dating events and subsequent online interactions. By accessing or using our website, mobile application (if applicable), or services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms govern your use of the Service, including registration for events, online chat features, and interactions with other users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
By registering, you confirm that all information provided (e.g., email, gender) is accurate and that you are legally capable of entering into this agreement.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
3. Service Description
- In-Person Events: We organize speed dating events where participants meet in person. Event details (e.g., location, date, time) are provided via the Service.
- Online Features: Post-event, users may access a dashboard to view matches and engage in private, time-limited (24-hour) chats.
- Admin Control: Matches, display names, and photos are assigned by our administrators based on event outcomes and are not user-editable for safety and authenticity.
4. Account Registration and Security
- Registration: You must create an account with a valid email address and password. A unique username (e.g., “User-12345”) will be assigned to you.
- Verification: Email verification is required upon signup. Two-factor authentication (2FA) may be required for event registration.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately at support@datedash.ie if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Lockout: After three failed login attempts, your account will be locked, and a password reset will be required via email.
5. User Conduct
General Rules: You agree not to:
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users during events or chats.
- Share personal contact information (e.g., phone numbers, addresses) via the Service.
- Use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
Chat Etiquette: Chats are private and time-limited. Inappropriate behavior (e.g., spam, offensive content) may result in account suspension or termination.
Reporting: Use the “Report” feature in chats to flag misconduct. We will review and act as necessary.
6. Event Participation
- Registration: Spots are limited by gender (e.g., max male/female) and require payment to reserve. Waitlist options are available if an event is full.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your registration via the Service up to 48 hours before the event for a refund, subject to Section 7. No-shows forfeit payment.
- Attendance: You must arrive on time and adhere to event rules provided at the venue. We are not responsible for your travel or accommodations.
- Safety: Display names and photos are set by us based on event attendance to ensure authenticity and safety.
7. Payments and Refunds
- Fees: Event registration requires payment (e.g., €35) via our payment portal (e.g., Stripe). Prices are listed on the Service.
- Methods: We accept various payment methods (e.g., credit cards, Apple Pay) as indicated during checkout.
- Refunds: Refunds are issued for cancellations made 48 hours before an event. No refunds for no-shows or post-event cancellations.
- Currency: All transactions are in Euro unless otherwise stated.
8. Privacy and Data
- Collection: We collect personal data (e.g., email, gender).
- Use: Data is used to facilitate events, match users, and ensure safety.
- Retention: Chat data expires after 24 hours; other data may be retained for security and marketing analytics (anonymized where possible).
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Service (e.g., logos, designs, text) is owned by DateDash.ie or our licensors and protected by copyright laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify our content without written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or that you’ll find a match.
We are not liable for:
- User interactions during events or chats.
- Losses due to technical issues (e.g., chat downtime).
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the most recent event.
11. Termination
- By You: You may delete your account by contacting support@datedash.ie.
- By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, with or without notice.
- Upon termination, access to chats and matches will end, and payments are non-refundable.
12. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, venue issues).
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ireland.
